Honors Arabic 1 Quarter One Newsletter
As many of us are completely new to the Arabic language this year, we have found it imperative to continue using verbally and physically interactive activities to help us grow and learn this language. With the incorporation of spoken song and rhythm, we not only have fun learning new vocabulary, but memorize the sound, pronunciation, and syllables of the new vocabulary. We physically interact with each other in the safest and most fun way by simply moving with the language. For example, we may act out pronunciations with a partner, or actually stand in a formation to represent the correct syntax used in Arabic. These are just a few examples of the teaching methods used by Mr. Danja that are encouraging us, students, to continue progressing in our Arabic learning community.

Honors Arabic 1 Quarter One Newsletter
Arabic is the written and spoken language of more than 150 million
people around the globe. It is spoken a lot in the countries of North
Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Arabic is spoken in 29 countries of
the world. Arabic is written from right to left and there are 28
alphabets. Arabic words begin with a consonant. Arabic is a new
language to all of us because it is written from right to left while
English is written from left to right. Our teacher, Mr.Danja, has
taught us a lot of skills in Arabic. We have learned the Arabic
numbers from 0 to 20 and how to greet our fellow classmates in Arabic
also. We have also done group activities in Arabic which a lot of us
enjoyed doing such as writing our names in Arabic and group
activities/board activities in Arabic. Our pronunciation of Arabic
words is getting better because of the support and help that Mr.Danja
is providing us. We enjoy learning Arabic through student interaction
because we say the basic Arabic greetings to each other. We don’t
dread coming to this class because of how friendly the student
environment is.
